About Us

The Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design treats the interior space, beyond being an aesthetic construct, as a discipline that thinks together with the physical, psychological and social needs of those who live in it. The main aim of our department is to train user-oriented and environmentally sensitive designers who grasp the impact of space on human life and who have the technical and theoretical equipment required by contemporary interior architecture.

Our four-year undergraduate program offers an education model that combines creative thinking with academic knowledge. Design studios are at the center of this model; our students synthesize the knowledge they acquire through theoretical courses in the studios and learn to base their design decisions on analytical thinking and critical inquiry. Our program enables our students to gain both conceptual and application-oriented competence by carrying out the fields of design theory, architectural technology, building knowledge and digital visualization in an integrated manner.

We adopt an approach that addresses interior architecture not only with its architectural and aesthetic aspects but also within its cultural, social and ecological framework. The goal of our department is to train interior architects who approach space with responsibility, contribute to society and culture, closely follow the international design agenda and can practice their profession with an original perspective.
